London, May 12, 2024 – The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024 is abuzz with excitement as renowned floral designer Judith Blacklock unveils her latest innovative installation, combining creativity, sustainability, and a touch of whimsy. This year’s show features an imaginative display linking willow figures and recycled bicycles from the charity Westminster Wheels, showcasing an eco-friendly approach to floral design.

Towering nearly four meters above the ground, a striking willow figure depicts Judith herself in her heyday, balancing on a unicycle, with her constant companion, Katie Dog, eager for a ride. This whimsical scene captures the playful spirit of the installation, drawing crowds and sparking conversations about the creative use of recycled materials in floral art.

Judith Blacklock’s installation is a delightful fusion of art and sustainability. The bicycles, adorned with fresh, dried, and preserved plant materials, along with environmentally friendly TWOOL, breathe new life into discarded objects. The installation emphasizes the importance of recycling and sustainability while adding an element of fun to the prestigious flower show. Flower pots reminiscent of the beloved children’s character Little Weed support the repurposed wheels, bringing smiles to the faces of visitors.

Belgravia in Bloom

Following her success at the Chelsea Flower Show, Judith Blacklock continues to enchant flower enthusiasts with another installation outside her flower school in Kinnerton Place South, SW1X 8EH. This installation is part of the Belgravia in Bloom event, organized by Grosvenor, running from May 20 to 27. The event promises a plethora of interactive and exciting installations, exclusive flower-themed menus, cocktails, and captivating experiences throughout the Belgravia neighborhood.

Online Floral Courses

In addition to her stunning installations, Judith Blacklock is launching a new venture—online floral courses that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) and the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), these courses offer students a comprehensive learning experience with a personal tutor to guide them throughout their studies. The professional course caters to aspiring florists, while the diploma course is designed for keen flower arrangers.
