The Flower Lady (Christina, Cincinnati, OH) was named one of the ten winners to receive @newellbrands @BallCanning Made for More $10,000 Small Business Fund to grow her urban flower farming-florist business.
Newell Brands, the maker of Ball® home canning products, announced today the winners of the inaugural “Made For More” Small Business Fund. This past December, small businesses who use Ball brand home canning products were invited to share how they have gone above and beyond to support their local communities during the pandemic for a chance to win$10,000 to fuel their business.
Truly one to show what it means to be “Living Flowers”, In Christina’s own words, here’s a little bit about her:
“Hi! My name is Christina, and I am the happy flower farmer-florist behind The Flower Lady LLC. With a background in the beauty industry, I understand how unique floral arrangements can take your shop, restaurant, event or photography to the next level. I started this business to bring my love of flowers, horticulture training, and eye for design to businesses and clients in my community.
The Flower Lady (Cincinnati) – an urban flower farmer florist that sells locally grown floral arrangements and shares her knowledge of sustainable gardening with the community through free workshops and youth camps.
“I specialize in growing flowers and creating beautiful and fragrant solutions for just about every floral need. My primary focus, however, is on serving brides, my neighbors, restaurants, and small businesses in the Over-the-Rhine (OTR) neighborhood in Cincinnati, OH where I live, work and garden.
“I believe in the inner connectivity of all living things. So, not all of my flowers are cut. I dedicate portions of my flower garden to our precious pollinators and I use all organic growing practices including saving rain water and making my own compost. I love meeting people and showing off my growing business.
