Jerry Coleby-Williams from the ABC’s Gardening Australia said the majority of florists bought their product from overseas, but there was a big untapped market for homegrown flowers.
“There are actually very few home producers of cut flowers,” he said.
“I can see a future for it here in Australia because a lot of people want to support local businesses.”
