I remember my mother telling me stories about the flower bouquets she and her childhood friends would make for Valentine’s Day and May Day. Her grandmother kept an old-fashioned flower garden where they would harvest blossoms to tie together with ribbons into a “posy.” Posy??? I always thought the term odd.
Imagine my interest when, while listening to a local gardening feature on the radio last year, I learned of a California florist who had written a book titled, The Posy Book, by Teresa Sabankaya, The Countryman Press. I just had to buy it.
