After a cold, dark winter and a cool spring, we eagerly look forward to the sun. Sunny summer days immediately bring you into that holiday atmosphere and make you dream of a trip to a special destination, being on a terrace with a refreshing aperitif or at a fun barbecue with friends and family in the garden.
When we draw the sun as a child, we fill a round circle with a golden yellow colour. In this issue, our Fleur Creatif floral artists treat us to some sunny creations with yellow flowers, in combination with citrus fruits, heartwarming, but also refreshing!
Summer also reminds us of fields full of blooming lavender or of fragrant rosemary. Why not incorporate these herbs into a summer patio creation? Place them in the center of the table and you have a mini-picking garden to give your summer salads that extra little bit of flavor.
The terrace and the garden are the place to be on summer days. With nice flower torches, that garden gets a colorful accent on festive days.
Summer is definitely the season with the biggest range of flower species. So, we thought it would be a nice idea to show off that abundance and make flower paintings out of them.
In addition to our creative chapter with summer inspiration, we also like to pay attention to some important summer events in this issue. In the month of May, we celebrate Mother’s Day. With a symbolic flower heart, your mother can tell how much you love her without any words!
The months of June, July and August are also the preferred months for a wedding party. We talked to Josefien Vercamer, interior designer and floral artist, who got married last year, and asked her what it is like when a florist does the floral decoration for their own wedding?
You will soon be able to enjoy our magazine in 3D again during our summer and late summer Fleuramour events. We will give you a sneak peek.
During Fleuramour 2021, Iryna Rakhuba won the first prize with her special bridal bouquet entry. We would like to introduce her work and that of her colleagues from the Minsk Flower School in Belarus.
Finally, we let you take a look at the latest book by Pascal Phaner. This French floral artist loves to experiment with new techniques and materials. In this book he pays attention to the use of reusable structures. This is a must-have book for your library.
With more than 80 pages of pure floral pleasure or inspiration to get you started, we wish you a flowery summer!
We hope to meet you soon at one of our events.
